Vardenafil (Generic Levitra)

Wednesday, November 21st, 2007

In 1990s there was a huge boom in the pharmaceutical market, as this was when Viagra (Sildenafil) was presented to the world. That was the first medical treatment in the world that actually solved the problem of erectile dysfunction. The numbers did the talking and as the profits from Viagra (Sildenafil) were reaching sky limits, it was obvious there was a big market for the drugs that will treat erectile dysfunction.

Bayer Pharmaceuticals devised Generic Levitra (Vardenafil) as the company realized they could make steady profits from treatment of erectile dysfunction; however Generic Levitra (Vardenafil) had to offer something that Viagra (Sildenafil) did not, to establish itself on the market as a drug for the treatment of erectile dysfunction that gives something that Viagra (Sildenafil) does not. The distinguishing feature of Generic Levitra (Vardenafil) is that it has not to be taken with food, while Viagra (Sildenafil) has to be taken with a meal.

There are a lot of similarities between Generic Levitra (Vardenafil) and Viagra (Sildenafil). They are both the same types of drugs that have the same effects. However even though Generic Levitra (Vardenafil) was the second drug that was released on the market to treat erectile dysfunction, the fact that distinguished Generic Levitra (Vardenafil) from Viagra (Sildenafil) was that it was more effective then Viagra (Sildenafil). Why is that so? Because even though both Generic Levitra (Vardenafil) and Viagra (Sildenafil) are PDE5 inhibitors, Generic Levitra (Vardenafil) will only affect PDE5 enzymes while it will not affect any other enzymes in the body. In layman terms, it means you need to take a smaller dosage of Generic Levitra (Vardenafil) for it to have a much longer effect then Viagra (Sildenafil).

Clinical studies conducted to research the effects of Generic Levitra (Vardenafil) have shown that not only that Generic Levitra (Vardenafil) helps to increase the blood flow to the penis and thus giving the men that take it a more lasting and firmer erection, the erection itself will go away once the sexual intercourse or the sexual stimulation to the groin area has stopped. Another advantage of Generic Levitra (Vardenafil) is that clinical studies have shown it a good choice for men who suffer from erectile dysfunction, but also from other chronic health problems, such as diabetes, high blood pressure, high cholesterol etc.

While it takes Viagra a full hour to work its magic, it is estimated that Generic Levitra will take effect after just 15 minutes. Another differentiating factor is that the active ingredient in Viagra is Sildenafil citrate, while the active ingredient in Generic Levitra is Vardenafil.

Regardless of the effectiveness of Generic Levitra (Vardenafil) the pill itself should be taken with some precautions. It is wise to consult a doctor before you decide to take Generic Levitra (Vardenafil), as in case you are suffering from a heart condition and liver or kidney disease and this might be dangerous to your health. Also even if you decide to take Generic Levitra (Vardenafil) without a prescription it is necessary to consult a doctor especially if you are on any other type of medication, especially nitrates or alpha blockers.
